The Story of Jason Tartick

Before joining the cast of ABC’s The Bachelorette in 2018, Jason made a name for himself in the corporate banking sector while simultaneously earning master’s degrees in both accounting and finance and facilitating lending transactions exceeding $150M.

Four years after leaving the TV franchise, Jason returned to his finance roots, publishing his first book in 2022, The Restart Roadmap: Rewire and Reset Your Career, designed to help readers reroute their lives for the better. His sophomore book debuted last month. Talk Money to Me: The 8 Essential Financial Questions to Discuss With Your Partner helps couples maintain or even improve their finances.

Today, Jason continues to share relatable yet transparent finance tips and insight on entrepreneurship and more across all social media platforms. He has also made a name for himself in the podcasting space with Trading Secrets, his weekly business podcast, garnering 20 million downloads and counting.

Now, the content creator shares his top-of-mind finance tips and advice for his fellow content entrepreneurs in today’s creator economy.

Finance tip: Review your cost commitments

Manage your expenses wisely. Investing in equipment upgrades, editing tools, new technology, and hiring talent will pay off in the long run.

At the same time, creator entrepreneurs should do some financial spring cleaning, identifying unnecessary expenses, such as forgotten and unused subscriptions.

Advice tip: Embrace the power of Gen Z

Gen Z is projected to outearn other generations in their lifetime because they generally are more learned about AI and social currency and trends.

If you’re a member of Gen Z, Jason says you should fully invest in your brand and focus on your content creator craft.

If you’re not a member of Gen Z, Jason encourages you to consider hiring them as consultants to expand your business knowledge.

Finance tip: Assess the stock market

When it comes to the stock market, uncertainty reigns for entrepreneurs, content creators, and everyone else. Expect market fluctuations to impact industries in different ways.

However, Jason acknowledges that, among the chaos, lies a potential benefit for entrepreneurs who have the resources to invest. “It also creates an opportunity to get into the market if you didn’t previously, at maybe a discounted rate. So keep all eyes on and dollar cost averaging,” he says.
