LOOKK, a platform that connects young fashion designers with consumers through an open social network, went live with a team of seed investors. LOOKK provides a platform for designers to showcase their fashion to a community of fashion lovers, giving aspiring designers and new labels a different way to enter the fashion market. Potential customers can directly engage with the designers by offering feedback, and will ultimately be able to purchase garments.
Designers can showcase a single design or an entire collection on the site. Based on support from the LOOKK community and market demand, a panel of fashion experts will choose which items to put into production. The cost of manufacturing and distribution will be covered by LOOKK.
