Grammarly has built a $35M+ business based partly on using a typo strategy for its search optimization. For example, its page on how to spell “traveling” drives about 87K sessions for the keyword. And it’s often the top one or two results for millions of words. (Foundation; h/t tl;dr marketing)
Tilt Take: If your business has a commonly misspelled word, why not create content around the topic of that misspelling. You’ll be able to catch audiences who may be interested in the subject but aren’t typing the correct word into search.
