Belus Technology has announced version 1.3 of its standards-based XHTML WYSIWYG editor for Windows and browser-based content management systems that support ActiveX. XStandard is designed to manage rich, multilingual content and generate XHTML (Strict or 1.1) with no deprecated tags, and without running code clean-up routines. Version 1.3 of XStandard includes enhancements such as a customizable toolbar, support for importing legacy or non-standards compliant markup generated by other editors, a gateway for inserting content from third-party applications, and retention of structural elements and semantic markup when pasting from Microsoft Word. XStandard supports editing features including tables, lists, links, text wrapping around images, custom tags, drag and drop from the desktop, and browsing of files in remote libraries. The Lite version of XStandard is free for use in production.
