Illinois is the first U.S. state to require children featured on monetized platforms to receive a percent of earnings. If creators don’t set aside the gross earnings for a child in a trust, the child can sue when they turn 18. (Fortune)
Tilt Take: Parents and other adults who benefit from using children in their videos and other content should have been doing this already. Sadly, too many don’t so expect laws like this to increase.
