Twitcher Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek became a figurehead in the gaming world by playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Now, he’s transitioned from gaming professionally to streaming professionally on Twitch while he’s in the middle of games like PUBG and Fortnite.

The 26-year-old Canadian has remained a sought-after gamer, amassing 9.8M subscribers on Twitch, 1.9M Twitter followers, and 1.6M followers on Instagram. Shroud earned followers by collaborating with a host of other creators, including Just9n, Timthetatman, HighDistortion, and Skadoodle

In 2019, Shroud left Twitch for an exclusive deal on Mixer, a video gaming streaming service owned by Microsoft. When Mixer folded, they bought out his contract for a reported $10M. And Shroud returned to Twitch: “Twitch is where I was able to first turn my passion for streaming into a successful career – and it is all due to my incredible and loyal fanbase.

“As I was exploring options, I realized that there was no better place than Twitch to engage with the best and most loyal gaming community worldwide. I am also excited to relaunch my channel with a new look and logo that I know my fans will love. I’m back, baby!”

In 2020, Shroud returned to his Twitch community, estimating his net worth to be between $8M and 12M.

Why we’re a Stan: Shroud didn’t let Mixer’s bad turn hurt his content business. He came back to Twitch stronger, smartly rebranding his look and logo for the new era.

A deal with @Microsoft's defunct Mixer didn't end the business success of @Shroud. He's back on @Twitch and doing great. #Stan #ContentEntrepreneur Click To Tweet
